Re-evaluating My Jewish Identity

I want to share about my experience as a Jewish, Modern Orthodox girl at Binghamton University. Specifically, I’d like to focus on my time participating in one of the many J-Learn classes that the Chabad in Binghamton offers.

The experience helped me grow immensely, and uncover an identity which was almost lost in my exploration of other cultures, religions, and ideologies.

I learned that being Jewish does not only entail being a good person, but also adhering to the Jewish laws and traditions that differentiate us from any other good-hearted human being.

I had finally found something to help me understand what it meant to embody a Jewish identity, and was able to take the first steps in renewing my love and understanding of maintaining my Jewish identity.
